Please note Don Hill’s announcement which finally puts some closure to our search for a Lead Pastor. Please take time to welcome Ken Radant and his lovely wife, Diane.
This Sunday I will continue my sermons in the book of Acts. This week we will be reading Acts 13 and reflecting on the life and ministry of Barnabas and Saul as they launch the first official missional initiative of the church.
Please read through this chapter and reflect on their missionary strategy. How can we use this strategy in our churches today as we seek to penetrate our community and culture with the good news of Jesus?
As a result of the congregational vote on Sunday, we made a verbal 'call' to Ken Radant to be our lead pastor and gave him a week to prayerfully consider this and let us know. Yesterday, Ken responded with a yes, 'in-principle'. What this means is that we need to proceed to the next steps of actually putting all terms, etc. into a written contract.
This last step is not foreseen to be an issue by either side but is necessary in order to complete the process.
This search process has been very long and quite arduous but I believe it has ended with a very positive result and I am personally looking forward to our future.
Thanks to all who participated in the process from actual members of the pastoral search committee (Leanne Roy, Sandra Sharma, Ester Chu, Mathilda Englebrecht, and myself) to the many essential prayer warriors.
Ken says, “We appreciate everyone's continued prayers as we work through the transition in the coming weeks, and we're thankful for the help of our team in making that smooth and effective”.
Don Hill, Chair of the Pastoral Search Committee.
Mark your calendars for these great events coming up.
