Our Real Battle
Goals:
- Make sure everyone understands how Salvation and Spiritual Growth occur
- An object lesson with four chairs
- Explain where/what our real spiritual battle is
- Resistance to drawing closer to God
- Clarify that victory and growth are possible
The World
- A system of ideas, values, morals, practices, and social norms that are integrated into the mainstream of daily life and institutionalized in a culture corrupted by the twin sins of rebellion against God and the redefinition of good and evil.
The Devil
- He is real, immaterial, and intelligent being.
- His end goal is to spread in our souls and society.
- His primary method and tactics are lies.
The Flesh
- Our base, primal, animalistic drives for self-gratification, especially as it pertains to sensuality, self-advancement, and survival.
Now What?
- Recognize the battle is real - Ephesians 6:12
- Prepare yourself for it
- Immerse yourself in scripture
- Pray - Ephesians 6:18
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions
with all kinds of prayers and requests.
With this in mind,
be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people.
