Council Update - September 19, 2023

Some things Council has been up to lately…

Special Meeting

  • The council has been holding occasional extra meetings to tackle issues at more length. This month we talked about ways to encourage ministry among our seniors and young adults, and how to be sure we are empowering ministry initiatives.

Regular monthly business

  • Sharing & encouraging one another, prayer
  • Monitoring finances, discussing recent trends
  • Consulting with Pastor Bob on ministry plans and activities
  • (Recent correspondence circulated, discussion delayed)

Heard (and celebrated) news from various ministry initiatives – some highlights

  • Very positive fall BBQ last Sunday, and good energy as we launch into fall
  • News of an individual who recently gave their life to Christ is seeking baptism
  • Received an update from the Pastoral Search Committee

Special projects

  • Update and plans for the church-wide review and affirmation of Mission/Vision/Values
  • Review of a possible Sunday evening outreach ministry
  • Discussion of budget issues and possible strategies

Noteworthy decisions

  • Review and in-principle approval of the Children’s Ministry Director contract, final details in process
