Message from the Pastor - Ken RadantHi everyone! And for all of our friends of Irish descent, Top of the afternoon to you! Yes, that greeting means we’re coming up on St. Patrick’s Day. It’s a wee bit early yet—the actual day is this Sunday—but just in case I forget to wear green and to make the comment on Sunday, I thought I should wish you all well in this newsletter. (I’m sure Diane will remind me. As you’ve probably guessed from the red hair, she’s got a good dose of Irish in her, too.) I’m not Irish myself, but I do love the color green, especially as it is displayed so beautifully all around us in the forests that rim the North Shore. How blessed we are to live where we do! And it’s delightful to enjoy it all in bright sunshine this week. I hope everyone is finding ways to get outside, to breathe in that beautiful (if increasingly pollinated!) air, and to enjoy our Lord’s good creation. In case I’ve got you wondering, no, I don’t have a St. Patrick themed message planned for Sunday. We’ll be continuing on with our exploration of some OT images that help to pave the way for Good Friday and Easter—which are now only 2 weeks away! This week we’ll be jumping ahead into the book of 2 Kings, where in chapter 5 we hear the story of the healing of Naaman, the leper. It’s a delightful account, and it has some useful things to say to us this month, though the connection to Easter may require a little careful thought. As always, if you find the time and have the interest, it may prove helpful to read through the chapter in anticipation of Sunday. Whether or not you’re able, I look forward to seeing many of you as we gather to worship again this weekend. For those who won’t be able to join us, “may the road rise up to meet you,” and may God bless you richly in all the areas where He is leading this week.
