Tom Walker

Tom Walker for Treasurer (two-year term, as he has already served one year on Council):
Tom has been a Christian since he was 18. He was baptized in 1974 and has attended
West Vancouver Baptist with his wife, Susan, since 1982 and has been a member for almost
as long.

Tom is 67 years young, semi-retired, and a father of four children who are baptized, was
married at WVBC, and who are all following the Lord. Susan and Tom have seven
grandchildren.

Over the years Tom has served in WVBC in youth, small groups, various committees, on
Council, and was our first Moderator. Tom is currently a member of the Council and
continues to serve the church as a Scripture reader, technical support for services, and
helping to lead our Baptism preparation course.

The need for a Treasurer to succeed Don Hill prompted Tom to offer his experience of 37 years in municipal government in managing complex recreation facilities, including, of course, preparation, oversight, and reporting on Operating and Capital budgets.

Tom affirms that he is in accord with the beliefs of the historic, trinitarian, universal Church as expressed in the Nicene and Apostle’s creeds and that he fully supports the four pillars of our statement of Vision and Purpose.
