Another beautiful morning. I think springtime is my favourite time of the year. I love to get up early and go for a walk with Holly before breakfast. Everywhere I look I see the wonder of God’s glory.
“How majestic is your name in all the earth.” Psalm 8:1
This Sunday we will continue our study of the Book of Acts. Acts records the story of the birth of the Church and its remarkable growth from Jerusalem the capital city of Judaism to Rome, the capital city of the world. I want to explore the question: “What were the factors which lead to the phenomenal growth of the Church in the first three centuries - from a small sect of Judaism to the official faith of the Roman Empire?”
I would encourage you to think about that question. How would you answer that question? Why did the citizens of Rome find the message of the church so appealing? What lessons can we learn from the early church and apply to our church today?
I also want to thank you for praying for Marleen and me last week. It was wonderful to be able to take a few days away from the routines of church and just spend some quality time together. I trust that the coming months may afford each of you a similar opportunity.
In closing, I would ask you to pray for those members and friends of our congregation who are facing some significant challenges especially as they relate to aging, family members, and health. May God’s sustains presence and grace surround each of you. If you need special prayer don’t hesitate to reach out.
Mark your calendars for these great events coming up.
